Jack White Gets All Twangy Again [MUSIC]

Remember last week, that country blues track we heard courtesy of Jack White and his solo efforts? Well, prepare to be perplexed even more. This just in---Machine Gun Silhouette. Now, it may sound like a song title we would expect from The White Stripes, and with the energy to macth. But you would be very wrong.

The latest from his forthcoming LP, Blunderbuss [I keep wanting to call it Blunderpuss...] is the most down-home country-sounding thing that he has ever done. Ever. Kinda makes you wanna two-step with Mary-Sue. The previous single, Love Interruption is out now in stores, and it includes the aforementioned song as a B-side.

Grab it and get your hoe-down on.

Jack White Finally Goes Solo [MUSIC]

He’s been the most visible member of the White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather, but Jack White has never gone full-on solo for any extended period of time. Sure, he's worked with Daniel Luppi and Norah Jones on the album, Rome....even had a cameo on American Pickers.

But that’s about to change. White’s debut solo album Blunderbuss comes out in April [my birthday!] and 'Love Interruption' is the first single. It’s riddled with ridiculously catchy acoustic guitars and electro-pianos.

The digital version of goes on sale tonight, and there’s also a 7″ vinyl coming 2/7, with the non-album track 'Machine Gun Silhouette' serving as the B-side. Album is out 4/24 on Third Man/Columbia.

Norah Jones Is A Holiday Hallucination [VIDEO]

On a very special, and hallucinatory holiday episode of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, the globe-trotting sharp-tounged food afficianado explores his darkest Christmas ever. And its all in his mind. After getting kicked out by his wife, he descends upon New York City for a sad adventure to fill both his stomach and his time before returning back to reality.

Making a stellar cameo in this 'nightmare' is Norah Jones, who sings sweetly in the lounge of the Ace Hotel, swooning the sad Bourdain with her rendition of 'Silent Night.' I'm usually not one for Christmas songs, but in this case I am very much hoping for a full version soon as this was painfully beautiful. Sporting a sexy new do, and exchanging her piano for a guitar, she lulls Bourdain to sleep once more.

Check out the video HERE:

And listen to her work with Jack White and Daniel Luppi on Dangermouse's album 'Rome'.
