The Shins Reunite On The Morrow [MUSIC]

The Shins are returning return with a new album in March through singer James Mercer’s own record label: Aural Apothecary.

It’s been five long years since the band’s last release, 'Wincing the Night Away,' but in that time, Mercer released two works with Danger Mouse under the group name Broken Bells--definitely check them out! But now they have come back around for next year's 'Port of Morrow,' a collection of 10 songs recorded in Los Angeles and Portland over the course of the past year.

Peep the official tracklist below and the very bizarre Jacob Escobedo-designed album art. How many faces can you spot in this image? Hint: I'm not giving you any hints.

Port of Morrow:
01. The Rifle’s Spiral
02. Simple Song
03. It’s Only Life
04. No Way Down
05. September
06. Bait and Switch
07. Fall of ’82
08. For A Fool
09. 40 Mark Strasse
10. Port of Morrow

In the meantime, check out some Broken Bells.

The Twelves Remix Everybody [MUSIC]

Brazilian DJ Duo, Joao Miguel & Luciano Oliveira--The Twelves, are not named for an obscure Mayan prophecy, rather the strange coincidence that has to do with their birthdays falling on the same day of the same year. But then again, it very well could be an ancient prediction that they would remix the #$&! out of nearly anything they could get their hands on. Cause they have done exactly that.

Featured on their remix album are 80's favorite A-Ha, along with Daft Punk, Groove Armada, Radiohead and Fleet Foxes. Also making an appearence are the Brits: Metric & Black Kids. The list goes on, but let's just skip straight to the music.

Arcade Fire Get Interactive In Your House [MUSIC/VIDEO]

Arcade Fire has a new interactive video for their indie dance track 'Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)' and it is EPIC! Not only do your dance moves work the video in practically any way your mind can imagine, but it changes depending on how well you can work it..thus providing an endless amount of fun as you hone your skills for that New Year party you wont shut up about. Who needs the Black Eyed Peas Experience video game when you have the ethereal Regine Chassagne helping you out??

Don't have a webcam to back you up? Lack of limbs? The video is still somewhat engaging if you at least have fingers. You can guide the video along, altering the visuals by clicking and dragging various parts of the screen.

More good news abounds! The video features an updated version of the song with an extended intro. Much better if you ask me. You can grab it below..

Passion Pit & Two Door Cinema Club Have A Go At Amadeus [MUSIC]

Besides being from the awesome-sounding city of Bangor, Ireland [are you serious?] Two-Door Cinema Club is a great indie band to boot. Signing to a French label has given them the opportunity to shine not just with their own brand of catchy tunes, but take a stab at other Frenchies such as Phoenix. Also featured on this album is Alex Metric who has remixed pracitcally everything under the Sun from Gorillaz, Bloc Party, Depeche Mode and N.E.R.D. Fellow U.K. chaps Friendly Fires makes a stellar mix as well.

Their cuisine is questionable, but their musical talent is not...

Best Coast + Wavves: California Christmas [MUSIC]

Best Coast & Wavves bring that surf-style rock to the holiday season with their California Christmas song, 'Got Something For You' which they also licensed to Guitar Center. Tis' the season for giving--and then receiving a nice paycheck. Although they'll probably end up spending it all at Guitar Center so who really wins in this situation?

And if you haven't already heard their collabo on the 7'' Vinyl 'Summer Is Forever' EP, check it out below. Go ahead and get your beach on'.

Norah Jones Is A Holiday Hallucination [VIDEO]

On a very special, and hallucinatory holiday episode of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, the globe-trotting sharp-tounged food afficianado explores his darkest Christmas ever. And its all in his mind. After getting kicked out by his wife, he descends upon New York City for a sad adventure to fill both his stomach and his time before returning back to reality.

Making a stellar cameo in this 'nightmare' is Norah Jones, who sings sweetly in the lounge of the Ace Hotel, swooning the sad Bourdain with her rendition of 'Silent Night.' I'm usually not one for Christmas songs, but in this case I am very much hoping for a full version soon as this was painfully beautiful. Sporting a sexy new do, and exchanging her piano for a guitar, she lulls Bourdain to sleep once more.

Check out the video HERE:

And listen to her work with Jack White and Daniel Luppi on Dangermouse's album 'Rome'.

The Antlers Rock Out For The Widows [MUSIC]

'If I ever get back home...' I'm gonna be listening to the gorgeous falsetto vocals of Peter Silberman and The Antlers on loop. There seems to be a trend these days with studio-made acoustic sessions, but when a band like this can sound just as amazing in a tiny room as they do in front of an arena, who's really going to complain?? You might not have gotten to see it, but at least you can still hear it. Right? ...Right.

Well fresh off-the-mixer is a small set of new renditions from this years' acclaimed 'Burst Apart'. Have a peak with your earballs and peep the beautifulness.

Feist: 'How Come You Never Go There? (Beck Remix)

Feist first posed the question 'How Come You Never Go There?' via a song on her latest album, 'Metals'. Well, somone finally went ahead and went there. And that person is the wacky and alternative music personality Beck [not Glenn Beck although he's plenty wacky himself]. The mix is great and has a more danceable feel to it. Which begs question, what took him so long? The song is now fully equipped with deep bass, pitch-distorted vocals and a more electronic feel.

Kings Of Leon Get A 9-Min Work-Out [MUSIC]

Most rock songs don't dare exceed a solid 4 minutes unless they're magical journeys by Led Zeppelin or consistently trippy Pink Floyd. But they've earned it. It's been a rough year for Kings Of Leon however. With lead singer Nathan Followill blowing out his voice in August at a show in Dallas and thus forcing the band to cancel their entire tour, perhaps they could use some help in extending their presence as the year draws to a close.

To do that, The Kings have enlisted the help of Royksopp to remix their track 'The Immortals.' Not from the movie, but from their latest LP, 'Come Around Sundown'. So what do you get when you combine Norwegian dance maestros and southern rock n' roll? You get this 9-minute dance hall jam:

Pretty Lights Vs. Radiohead Vs. Nirvana Vs. NIN = We All Win [MUSIC]

Electro-Mad-Scientist Derek Vincent Smith [Pretty Lights], enjoys warping minds with retro riffs outfitted with modern beats. His remix album splices genres to create his signature body-movers. Working with artists like Notorious B.I.G. [not literally, although that would be something] to Steve Miller as well as Radiohead [Everything In Its Right Place] Nine Inch Nails [Closer] and Nirvana [All Apologies] we end up with some seriously awesome mash-ups.

Not one to stick to the boring, tried-and-true method of mere music combos, he adds his own unique beats, drums and bass to make a more authentic hybrid. And it works. Compiled for your enjoyment and for those seeking their own remix inspiration, are some previously unreleased tracks from Smith. As a bonus, have a listen to a Radiohead '15 Step' mash-up with Dave Brubek's classic 'Take Five' jazz hit courtesy of Overdub.
