Metric Speeds Up The Collapse & Anticipation [MUSIC]

Metric is set to release their sunny new album Synthetica, in the coming weeks (June 12th to be exact). Since dropping such buzzworthy news, the masses have been able to chow down on the freshness bestowed on us from the powers-that-be. The first single 'Youth Without Youth' has satiated our appetites for a while...But now, they’ve dropped a second jam, 'Speed The Collapse' from the upcoming release--a pummeling, uptempo song swimming in a Radiohead-esque texture. Stream it below.

Synthetica is out 6/12 Metric Music International/Mom + Pop. Stereogum recently spoke to Metric’s Emily Haines for a Progress Report.

YACHT Gets Covered In Velvet [MUSIC]

Last month, YACHT’s excellently blippy cover of the great Brigitte Fontaine/Art Ensemble Of Chicago classic 'Le Goudron'. And on that single’s B-side, they repeat the trick, doing a similarly club-friendly cover of another counterculture-pop anthem from the same era. This one, though, is a song that you probably already have strong feelings about: The Velvet Underground’s golden oldie, 'I'll Be Your Mirror'. Obtain the YACHT version below and snag a DL of both tracks and the original [Only place to do so...you know how we do!]

Head HERE for a bunch of crazy remixes and extended versions of Le Goudron.

Sleigh Bells Get Even Clubbier [VIDEO/REMIX]

Sleigh Bells’ hit 'Demons', is an intense visual that serves as the best summary of the visceral live experience that they bring to the stage. According to Pitchfork, it’s an homage to classic Pantera videos and it’s composed of live footage from tour stops in Omaha, Oklahoma City, Dallas, and Houston. Stuttering lights, closeup's, and sweeping camera angles all make quite a dark and ominous ambience. The Bells’ own Derek Miller co-directs alongside Gregory Kohn. Watch it below and grab Diplo’s new remix of the track while you’re down there.
